While doing some bug cleanup work, I found this old bug.
The reports point to the w3m version shipped with Ubuntu Ubuntu 16.04. Also, I checked that the bug is not present in the upper series (no facing this using the cmd proc lines from some of them).
Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of- standard- support on April 29, 2021. I'm afraid this bug can't be fixed. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs promptly; it appears to be no further action possible at this time.
Due to the above, I'm marking this bug as "Won't fix".
