The main feature of this proposed revision is that it makes find-function and find-library work properly. It also allows the package to be used with emacs22.

Building fails until emacs22 is available in the archives. Restoring to the U-U-S queue based on:

Wouldn't it be better to make the package compatible with compat 5 than to drop it to and older version?

I didn't drop it from 5 to 4. I upped it from 3 to 4, not knowing about version 5 at the time. I need to redo part of the emacsen-install rules anyway, so I'll make a new diff with this fix in just a bit.

Here is the new and improved debdiff. I've moved the build dependency to have emacs21 in the primary position, so that it can go through right away without waiting for emacs22 to be approved.

Letting it at compat 4 would probably make it easier to backport to
earlier versions of ubuntu that don't ship debhelper (>> 5)
yet. Therefore I don't see a urgent need to upgrade. However, some
bugfixes have been deferred to higher compats levels, so upgrading might
be a good idea in this way. oh well...

No supported release of Ubuntu has a debhelper version less than 5.0.7 for what it's worth.
