TERM environment variable not set

Bug Description

after dist-upgrade the problem with lxtermianl "TERM environment variable not set" is not gone

top and htop don´t run in terminal or from menuentry

please try again to fix it

I also have this problem with a new installation on a Dell Inspiron 1545.

Typing these commnads in xfce4-terminal gets:

nano
Error opening terminal: unknown

clear
TERM environment variable not set

man
WARNING: terminal is not fully functional
