Rather than patching scripts which call Xvnc, wouldn't a better fix to be building Xvnc without the extension in the first place (Or determining why it is built in, but doesn't work?)
Its been a while since I last looked at this as I'm no-longer trying to use VNC for a terminal-server, however I recall RealVNC telling me that their version does not compile in support for the XFIXES extensions.
