Bug Description

The fullscreen mode of xvncviewer is shifted downward by the gnome-panel, so
that the bottom of the screen is clipped. I have used the vncviewer from
RealVNC under gnome and had it work properly. I have heard that this issue is
due to the method used to establish the fullscreen mode.

One possible solution is to use the xvnc4viewer package instead of the current
default (v3). It does not have this issue.

Does this still happen?

Yes, I just tried it in Dapper. To test it yourself just:

open the vncviewer on some vnc server
hit F8
select "Full screen"

This bug still exists on feisty. Moreover, on my system, once I started vncviewer fullscreen, there is no possibility to quit it, except for going to a text terminal and manually kill it.

Can we solve this or make xvnc4viewer the default vncviewer?
