vlc stalls on all movies and freezes machine

Bug Description

Since upgrading to Natty, watching any avi or movie clip with vlc results in frames not being in sync with sound, and then freezing and jumping to the point the entire machine locks up and you have to hard reboot. This has only happened since upgrading to Natty.

Can you upgrade to vlc 1.1.9-1ubuntu1.2 and tell me if the problem is solved?
