Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

When playing certain video files (ususally .mkv) in VLC the system crashes. This usually happens a few minutes after vlc starts playing the video. First VLC loses audio and shortly thereafter the system becomes very sluggish and almost completely unresponsive.

This is on Ubuntu 11.04 AMD64 running vlc 1.1.9-1ubuntu1
