A fair number of translations are available from https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/breezy/+sources/vlc/+pots/vlc/de/+translate for inclusion.

If you follow Emmet Hikory's link, you'll see that only 9 messages are still to be done. So I guess/think this bug can be marked as fixed.
