VLC doesn't stop the gnome-screensaver

3) Description of the problem:
I select the option "inhibit the power management option during playback" in "Tools" -> "Preferences", but It didn't work!
The gnome-screensaver is still functional and interrupts every video that I try to play.
The only "solution" is to increase the time to consider the computer inactive in gnome-screensaver.
