Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

VLC interferes with display somehow. Running jaunty. VLC worked fine in intrepid but now I cannot play a DVD and after starting VLC all my Desktop icons disappeared. If I open a terminal and list the files in Desktop (ls -l Desktop) everything is still there. Also the "Places" function on my taskbar will not work.
