Bug Description
wxvlc can't play files loaded from gui
the newest VLC package as of Oct. 11 (0.8.4-
terminal reports:for a xvid-avi file (****=folder)
libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.1.9 from http://
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access
libdvdread: Can't stat 8Y\uffffE8Y\
Onbekend bestand of map
libdvdnav: vm: faild to open/read the DVD
[00000284] main input error: no suitable access module for `8Y\uffffE8Y\
[00000260] main playlist: nothing to play
When I look in the playlist there is an entrance but without a name, description, anything.
update:
Used the commandline: vlc (xvid)file.avi
watch the terminal output again...and :

looks like it doesn't support Xvid or anything else...

xvid support is not compiled in ffmpeg. This is not a vlc issue.

The playlist->open function is broken; I'm working to fix this. In the meantime, use the command line:
$ vlc somefile
