Hi, you reported this bug a while ago on a pre-release of Intrepid. You are also saying that all video players where crashing. Are you still having this problem with Intrepid stable?

I am having this same issue. I have the latest version of Ubuntu (8.10), and I have all of the updates. I just had Ubuntu put on my computer last night by a buddy who uses it, and has not had any of these problems. Everything works like a charm (thus far), except for media/movie players. Every single one I have tried (totem, mplayer, vlc) all crash immediately after I try to open a movie file (avi mostly) or a dvd. I am complete lost. Can anyone help?

This stack trace uses gdk, meaning the WxWidget interface. This is not present in VLC 0.9, so this report is unusable.
