1. Running the Ubuntu 8.04 Beta, kernel 2.6.24
2. Package of VLC: 0.85e
3. I expected it to open the file from the DJMounted UPnP device (a standard MP4 movie)
4. It took about 3 minutes and then it crashed.

This should have been fixed in VLC 0.9.0 already.
