vlc package has --disable-projectm set in ./configure

Bug Description

I realized that the VLC package for Ubuntu (and Debian) has --disable-projectm in the ./configure line. Even the https://launchpad.net/~videolan/+archive/ubuntu/master-daily PPA has projectm disabled even though the default is projectm enabled...

Also I've tried manually building VLC master branch and had no issues getting VLC working with projectm on Ubuntu Lunar. Why is projectm explicitly disabled?

Fwiw I tried checking the commit log to see if it had any more details. Unfortunately it only says that projectm is broken, or at least was 13 years ago, I suppose a lot can have changed in the mean time (https://salsa.debian.org/multimedia-team/vlc/-/blame/master/debian/rules#L146)

sure would be nice if someone could pick this up and try removing the --disable-projectm arg from the build, it is definitely not broken.
