Bug Description
I realized that the VLC package for Ubuntu (and Debian) has --disable-projectm in the ./configure line. Even the https:/
Also I've tried manually building VLC master branch and had no issues getting VLC working with projectm on Ubuntu Lunar. Why is projectm explicitly disabled?

Fwiw I tried checking the commit log to see if it had any more details. Unfortunately it only says that projectm is broken, or at least was 13 years ago, I suppose a lot can have changed in the mean time (https:/ /salsa. debian. org/multimedia- team/vlc/ -/blame/ master/ debian/ rules#L146)
