Bug Description
This is very frustrating: Alt-tab on my window manager behaves very very badly if VLC is sending notifications (basically it forces me to switch to VLC, which is almost never what I want when VLC is playing audio). I have disabled notifications in VLC (Tools > Preferences > Interface > Show media change popup > Never). Yet I still get these notifications popup. Is there a way to say “Never, never” to VLC to stop it sending this annoying notifications?

Try go to Settings -> Notifications. Click VLC entry and disable notifications there.
