Binary package hint: vlc

every multimedia app crashes with a bus error (core dump) in mythbuntu. The frontend plays everything fine. tried with vlc, xine, ffmpeg, ffplay

As you report the same bug but for xine I think that the problem comes from something else:

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, the automatic retracer was unable to create a useful stack trace from the application's crash file. Subsequently, I am closing this bug as invalid. We'd appreciate it if you could try and recreate this crash using the development release of Ubuntu. In the event that you receive a crash report again please file it. Thanks!
