Bug Description
Playback of Blu-Ray video discs with the PCM audio track selected is accompanied by either a high pitched tone or high pitched noise, i.e. what either sounds like a single clean frequency or what sounds more like a mash of frequencies. It's not a problem with the system per se (nothing else causes such a noise), nor with the discs (happens on two different ones).
The PCM audio streams I tested are sampled at 48 kHz and 32 bit. Very infrequently, the PCM stream will actually play without this noise, but as soon as I seek in the stream the noise is back. One disk also has a dts-HD stream, which also plays fine.
