Fails to playback some http(s) streams

Will attach logs & addresses for 4 examples to report. Note that vlc 2.1.4 plays back all with no issue.
vlc is set to default settings

If you all are going to use a pre-release version then it really should be one that's not broken (or broken significantly like this one.
So please, as mentioned, pick a newer version, you've had 5+ weeks to do so.
In lieu of being fixed then any affected users can use the vlc stable ppa version -

I can confirm this. YouTube streams stop after a few seconds. By the way, this also breaks Minitube which uses the Phonon VLC backend.

Fixed in 15.04, 14.10 is an almost dead dog so who cares really...
