Same here; while i was upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 uprgade was interrupted when setting up packages at %98 .
The last configuring package was Virtuose OpenSource Edition . I 've waited half an hour and then interrupted upgrade.
Chances are my system is not broken now, i 've handled it manually.

Same here. Stuck at 88% when upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10. Stuck on "configuring virtuoso-opensource-6.1". Message in console:
process 20098: arguments to dbus_move_error() were incorrect, assertion "(dest) == NULL || !dbus_error_is_set ((dest))" failed in file dbus-errors.c line 280.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
