Bug Description

All of my Win10 Guest VMs are having problems when using 6.1.34_Ubuntu r150636 on Linux dell-xps-8700 5.15.0-47-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Thu Aug 11 07:51:15 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

After booting the VMs, applications within the VM frequently crash, or the whole VM freezes/hangs.

This is happening on multiple different Win10 guest VMs.

There is a reddit thread where others are describing similar issues (link below.) Some folks have claimed that purging version 6.1.34 and installing version 6.1.36 directly from virtualbox.org resolves the issue.

Package: virtualbox
Version: 6.1.34-dfsg-3~ubuntu1.22.04.1
Priority: optional
Section: multiverse/misc
Origin: Ubuntu

It might also be related to this:

If this is the case then booting the host with the -46 kernel instead of the -47 kernel would make the problem disappear. So it might also be some change in the recent kernel that is at fault here.
