Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

The comnbination of current java and current ubunto has a serious problem
with image display. Based on past experience, it's like the problem is in scaling
and color convering full color images for presentation on 8 or 16 bit displays.

http://boardspace.net/english/about_hive.html

the referenced page brings up a java applet in a new window, which under
current java and ubunto, is obviously corrupted. It has not changed in
recent history, and it is known to work correctly on windows, osx, and
redhat linux.

Since this applet has been around for a long time, and the problem hasn't been
reported before, it is likely this is a recently introduced bug.

I see this was changed to some virtualbox support package. It is true that I am running ubunto in
virtualbox, but I have reports from my users who are using standalone hardware.
