Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.22-14-generic
After installing the package virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.22 on Ubuntu 7.10 the network-manger couldn't set up the wireless anymore. Network Settings show only wired and modem connection. The wireless connection is missing. I'm not good at reading log-files but when I boot the system with Ubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-generic or with Ubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-386 the /var/log/syslog look different.

I'm not good at reading log-files but when I boot the system with Ubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-generic or with Ubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-386 and examine the kernel ring buffer with the command dmesg I can see that the ipw2200 driver is unable to load the required firmware.
