Bug Description

I am using an ubuntu 14.04. I have installed virtual box. The installed version is 4.3.10. The version of virtualbox-guest-additions-iso that is installed and is used by the vbox GUI to install the guest additions in the guest OS matches the vbox version. But is not working. The version that works is: virtualbox-guest-additions-iso v4.3.22.

While trying to install for check the ubuntu 15.04 in a virtual box, I got a 640X480 screen.

I used virtualbox's Gui (Devises -> Insert Guest Additions CD image) to install guest additions .
(install program started automatically inside guest, asked me for my admin password in guest, started the installation but failed

(Look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log to find out what went wrong)

Rebooting and again 640X480.

Ok, maybe it is 15.04 that has the problem. Let's try to install a 14.04 in this virtual machine.
Same problem.

Temporary solution: download from
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.3.22/VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.22.iso
load it in a virtual CD
and voila...

Building the main Guest Additions module ...done.
Building the shared folder support module ...done.

You should restart your guest to make sure the new modules are actually used

Installing the Window System drivers

You may need to restart the hal service and the Window System (or just restart
the guest system) to enable the Guest Additions.

Installing graphics libraries and desktop services components ...done.

Rebooting I had 1280X960 screen.
