Bug Description

Binary package hint: virt-manager

Ubuntu Release:

Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release: 10.04

Version of Packages

virt-manager: 0.8.2-2ubuntu6
kvm: 1:84+dfsg-0ubuntu16+0.12.3+0ubuntu15
libvirt: 0.7.5-5ubuntu13

When using virt-manager, If I try and view a running KVM VM,

 - On a locally attached monitor,It ends the X session and takes me back to the login screen
 - On an NX session, the viewer appears and says ' Connecting to Graphical console for guest' but doesn't change. I can select the View Hardware details tab but clicking on the Show Graphical Console button does not switch back to the viewer. (The viewer does not appear to be painting)

I can reproduce this bug.

I've experienced this bug, but I think it something to do with screen resolutions between the guest, the host, the NX session and the nx client.

I've been able to connect from another host using virt-manager + ssh and successfully view consoles on a host exhibiting this display bug. Guest displays are fine when remotely viewed using virt-manager + ssh.

Resizing the virt-manager window area and switching off display scaling from guest when connecting to a host using NX worksaround this issue for me.

summary: - Viewing Virtual Machine through Virtual Machine Manager causes X Session
- to restart
