VNC server not sending updates to client

Bug Description

I recently upgraded to 9.04. After upgrading, it seems I was able to use VNC for a bit OK, but then it stopped working. Screen updates were no longer being sent from the server to the client. Input was still being sent from the client to the server - I could see the effects of the mouse and keyboard working on the at the actual server machine.

I can kill vino-servre then run /usr/lib/vino/vino-server. When I reconnect from a client I can see the updated screen. On the client side I'm just using Linux vncviewer.

This never happened in 8.10. If it matters I have compiz enabled. Let me know what other information would be helpful.

I can confirm this issue, i tried

 * RealVNC Viewer P4.5(r21561) on Windows XP SP3
 * UltraVNC 1.0.5.6 on Windows XP SP3
 * Vinagre 2.26.1 on Jaunty

als clients. No client work, i always see only a static picture on the client side, but the interaction between client/server works.

Confirmed...jaunty 64 bit...but only when Compiz(Desktop Effects) is (are) activated. When you switch to "no effects"("keine") it works fine. maybe it's a problem with compiz and the vnc server or with the nvidia driver.

nvidia-driver version: 180.44

i would also be happy about a workaround
