could be that a vino instance is already running and that an another one is started by gnome-session in loop and exit since there is one running

Dear Sebastien,

Currently, remote access is turned off in preferences and there is a vino-server running.

It is in my list of applications that start up with gnome, now that I've checked.

Anyway this looks like a bug. It should be expected that the existence of an already running vino-server will be handled gracefully.

This will probably be experienced by many users whom, like me, have vino-server run on login. Note that I didn't put it there. This is an upgrade from intrepid.

Many blessings.

Dear Sebastien,

What do you mean by duplicate, please? That this is a duplicate of an existing bug report? Which one, if so, please?

Whilw vino was enabled, I launched 'ps aux | grep vino | tee -a grep-vino.txt' and attached the file. Seems like you were right; there's this launch and exit loop. Why is this happening? What's going wrong? I want to locate the bug.

Also, this doesn't happen in every session. Only in some sessions.

Many blessings.

Dear Sebastien,

My syslog and daemon.log don't have these messages that bug #340515 shows.

Thus I think that this is a different bug.

Many blessings.
