Bug Description

Binary package hint: vino

When changing your password via the "Remote Desktop Preferences" dialog, if you highlight the old password and begin typing (to overwrite it), the first character of your password is ignored - it clears the (obfuscated) old password text from the box but does not appear as part of your new password.

Steps to reproduce:

1. From the menubar, go to System > Administration > Remote Destop
2. Highlight the existing text in the password field
3. Press 'a'

Expected result:
Password field contains visibile text "*"

Actual result:
Password field is empty

I can't reproduce it, tried 2.25.5 and 2.24.1. What version do you have?

This is confirmed on Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop.

I got a headache from this weird behavior until I watched closely on the echoed `*'.

$ vino-preferences --version
GNOME vino 2.22.2

Changed in vino (Ubuntu):
