Unity Launcher does not work over Remote Desktop Viewer

When viewing one Ubuntu 11.04 desktop from another computer with Ubuntu 11.04 using Vinagre, the Unity launcher does not appear on mouseover (the default behavior is to withdraw the launcher into the left side of the screen when a window is blocking the space it occupies when open). The launcher works well when operated locally, so there seems to be something wrong with the way Vinagre sends the mouse position: the launcher begins to appear when the mouse moves to the left-hand side, but gets stuck in the beginning of the fade-in.

Same problem with latests Ubuntu releases:

VNC server: vinagre Ubuntu 12.04, Unity (the default, not -2d!)

VNC client: vinagre Ubuntu 11.10

I've also tried decreasing color deept (ex. 8 or 3-bit) or activating jpeg compression option to improve
connection speed, but there's no way to make dashboard appear.
