Bug Description

Binary package hint: vinagre

When you run vinagre, it shows locally-discovered VNC servers (including localhost if remote desktop control is enabled). It shows two entries for each server, eg:

* rocko on galactica (10.1.1.1)
* rocko on galactica (fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd)

Both connections appear to be the same - the different address is only shown in the hint on mouse-over.

The problem is that the ipv6 connection always fails to connect. The ipv6 connection is definitely working, at least for pings:

ping6 -I wlan0 fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd
PING fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd(fe80::20d:56ff:fe3c:1fbd) from fe80::21f:3bff:fe61:2f29 wlan0: 56 data bytes

I would expect that either ipv6 connections not get shown at all, or vinagre should be able to connect to them.

This issue also occurs in Maverick.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
