Binary package hint: vinagre
I installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS on a Dell Dimension 2400 and experimented vinagre with a French keyboard.
This package seems a promising substitute to vncviewer, however the management of control and accented characters is presently broken.
- Some control characters are not passed to the remote computer. As an example control-w closes the vinagre session !
- The Alt Gr composite key is not recognized, making impossible to generate a bunch of accented characters. |

OK, I just committed an initial preferences dialog, which allows you to control if the shortcuts (accels) exist or not. Also, I've changed its default value to FALSE, thus, vinagre doesn't have accels keys by default.
The fix will be in Vinagre 2.25.2, to be released at Dec 1st. |

OK, I just committed an initial preferences dialog, which allows you to control if the shortcuts (accels) exist or not. Also, I've changed its default value to FALSE, thus, vinagre doesn't have accels keys by default.
