Bug Description

Binary package hint: vim-gnome

On up-to-date Jaunty, when resizing windows in vim-gnome, it sometimes doesn't draw the new page completely. Attaching a screenshot to demonstrate how it looks. I think the problem also exhibits when scrolling a page down or up.

Seconded. If you hit CTRL-L enough you can observe this. Maybe, one time out of 10 it will fail to draw some part of the screen.

Still happens in maverick, VERY frustrating.

Happens on my desktop or laptop, 32 or 64 bit, and whether composited OpenGL desktop effects ore on or off.

The problem is in new compiz. When i downgrade compiz on my 11.04 from ppa, gvim starts to work fine.

I started having this problem in 10.10 and it very looks like it is because of compiz. I now have 12.04 and the problem is still there. Ivan suggested using a PPA and unfortunately he did not mention where that PPA is. Anyone knows?

In my case, the problem happens nearly every time I use the :ls command to list my buffers. Most of the time the end of the list doesn't make it to the output and Ctrl-L is not an option (because it refreshes the page, not the :ls output.)

I certainly hope that the fix mentioned by Ivan will made it to 12.10, but... did it? I'm not ready to switch to 12.10!
