Old version of json.vim doesn't allow turning off quote concealment

Bug Description

The version of syntax/json.vim bundled with Ubuntu conceals quotes in JSON files by default (which is bad enough on its own), and does not allow turning off this behavior without setting conceallevel to 0.

The slightly newer version available at https://github.com/elzr/vim-json/blob/master/syntax/json.vim has a setting to turn it off.
