Bug Description
Binary package hint: vim-gnome
In the gtk gui of vim you can scroll the window using the mouse wheel. Scrolling is fast and smooth. However, if you open the "open file" window and then close it (even without selecting anything) then scrolling becomes much slower, to a degree that it's irritating.
I'm using the latest gutsy beta. vim-gnome version is 1:7.1-056+2ubuntu2.
Steps to reproduce the problem
- execute gvim
- write a big chunk of text (eg write a line and then press "yy" and "100p")
- scroll with the mouse wheel. it's fast and smooth
- open the "edit file" window by selecting "file/open..." from the menu or give the ":browse e" command
- press cancel to close the window
- scroll again. now it's much slower.
The problem is always reproducable. I use an empty .vimrc.
The same bug is also reproducable with vim-gtk.
I just want to add that this is *not* specific to mouse wheel scroll. Scrolling with the keyboard has the same effect and in general vim's response is much slower after opening the "file/open" window.
Also, the same thing happens with the "save as" window, but *not* with all gtk windows (for example the "find" or "select font" windows don't have this problem).
