Bug Description
When editing long text using the c command, vim seems to temporarily disable the "linebreak" option. This can be very annoying when editing long lines of text.
A thorough discussion of this bug can be found in the Debian BTS 774492 (http://
I am encountering this bug on Ubuntu 15.04 running vim 2:7.4.488-3ubuntu2.
Debian fixed this issue by backporting patch 7.4.576 into the vim package 2:7.4.488-7. It would be great if Ubuntu could backport/sync.
The attachment "Upstream patch used in Debian" seems to be a patch. If it isn't, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are a member of the ~ubuntu-reviewers, unsubscribe the team.
