Extreme slow syntax highlighting for Windows Registry Files

Bug Description

If exported Windows Registry Information is opened in vim, an very simple, but apropriate syntax highlighting is enabled.

However, on any longer block of ASCII hex representation (and usual Registry data has a lot of that trash) the text rendering gets extremely slow, hugging CPU and make scrolling almost impossible.

The simple scheme of marking keys and there values should not need such complex parsing.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

However, no Ubuntu version or flavour information has been given and as there has been no comment on the bug report for over nine years I'm closing this as being an invalid report.

If this is still an issue while using a currently supported release of Ubuntu then please revert the bug status to 'New' and run the following command in a terminal:

Thank you.
