Bug Description
Immediately after installing vim-gnome, there is no icon for gvim in the system application launcher.
I'm currently using Unity, so my application launcher is Unity. In my past experience, this is a problem with other desktop environments too.
To make Gvim show up in the launcher, I have to log out and back in.
I think other applications send a message to the desktop environment when they are installed to say that the list of installed applications has changed.
