videocut Floating point exception crash opening MP4

recorded video on a friend's camcorder and copied the *.MP4 files to Oneiric. Selecting Open With I saw an option to find compatible programs on the Internet. Videocut was one of the only editors. I installed it, but any time I attempt to open a *.MP4 file from this camera the program closes without a visible error. Running in the console I was able to retrieve this:
