Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in vidalia (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Apparmor profile seems wrong. Adding this and telling apparmor to reload profiles lets Vidalia start:
  /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/ r,
  /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/** r,

summary: - Vidalia crashes and doesn't launch
+ Vidalia crashes and doesn't launch due to an overzealous apparmor

For other readers: location of this profile is, of course, /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.vidalia
