Bug Description

It would be nice to developers to backport vala 0.18 to 12.04 LTS. Vala releases are parallel installable so this should not conflict with the existing vala support in 12.04 LTS. Vala 0.18 contains important bug fixes over 0.16 that developers may require to develop on 12.04 LTS.

summary: - Backport vala 0.18 to 12.04 LTS

Hmm, I uploaded to precise-proposed but it's being rejected I think because Ubuntu can't have a quantal and precise version with exactly the same version number (0.18.0-0ubuntu1). So I need to work out the right version to give it for precise (0.18.0-0ubuntu1~precise1?).

This should be done in backports, not o proposed/updates.

the most common way would probably to use "0.18.0-0ubuntu0.12.04.1"
