Bug Description

Hello,

As in summary, I have an external USB 3 capable box carrying inside a 2 tera disk with a 2 tera partition formatted by ext 4.

If I plug it on the USB 3 port on my AsRock 880GMH/USB3 motherboard, apparently nothing happens. If I plug it on one of the many USB 2 ports on my motherboard, the disk and partition work perfectly.

This is the log I get from dmesg

Hope this can be solved so that I can use my external disk on the USB 3 port.

Cheers

I found a solution for this issue, it's explained on this page

Sure it would be wonderfull if sooner or later this issue is solved with the distro " out of the box " without the necessity of modifying grub

Hope to hear something about this

Thanks

Cheers

I believe this was fixed in quantal and should be working in the backported kernels on 12.04.2+
