Bug Description

Binary package hint: mount

I upgraded from (k)ubuntu dapper to edgy. Everything works fine but swap does not get activated at boot time. If I issue :

swapon -a

I get

swapon: /dev/disk/by-uuid/8d4f6018-0339-XXXXX-a63f-2d8cf45f5f1c: Invalid argument

If I use swapon /dev/hda7 I get the same error.

After using mkswap /dev/hda7 I can enable it with swapon but it won´t activate the swap space after reboot (I changed fstab to the new volumeid).

Any ideas what kind of problem that is?

Hello,
I am using ubuntu Gutsy and the same problem is still there. I cant swapon /dev/hda7.
Only after doing a mkswap /dev/hda7 I can do the swapon.

I just guessed that the bug still has not been fixed so this is a little reminder..
