usrmerge failed during upgrade to 22.04 - both /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 and /usr/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 exist

Bug Description

This was a very obscure error during upgrade from one LTS release to another.

I finally (apparently) fixed it by running:

  sudo ln -s -f /usr/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 ld-linux-x86-64.so.2

  sudo /usr/lib/usrmerge/convert-usrmerge

I guess stuff like this is why even Ubuntu Linux is still only used by software developers (like me) and other technical adventurers.
