By command "rm /lib64", I solved this usrmerge error on my vm. "/usr/lib/ usrmerge/ convert- usrmerge" would succeed.
"/lib64" is a simply link to "/usr/lib/ x86_64- linux-gnu" dir.
After several times of updates, "/lib64" would reapear, but link to "/usr/lib64".
