the splash screen doesn't work in AMD64

Well 1st of all it still works but this new plash screen you guys made "NICER" doesn't work on the Live cd or the install that is givs me. I can still install and still use it.....but this new spash screen would be nice if it worked.

ok well wen I put in the Livecd the plash screen look corrupt but it looks like it still works maybe its the picture that it uses for quiet splash.

I'm Farlie new to Linux in general but i can get around ok so i dont think i can look into it very deep.

ok sry about that well im farly new to linux so i cant give go to deep this you wear but i can get around good. ok well i put in the Live cd and the picture on boot looks bad the scrole loader bar thingy look like it works but not so good ill try to get you a screen shot.

I believe this is related to the bug 64487 which can usually be fixed by setting:

xres=1024
yres=768

in /etc/usplash.conf

however, i wouldn't worry about how it looks from the live cd as i am sure they use a "safe" size to somewhat work with as many as possible.

I can confirm this.
I have tried the same stuff on 2 identical HP xw8400 workstations with nvidia quadro graphics.
One I installed using i386 and the other using amd64.
The i386 one worked correctly but not the amd64. And I have reinstalled on both machines and switched i386/amd64 and I would definitely say that it is a problem on the amd64 one.
