Bug Description

I am almost sure it is Usplash but here is my problem. I downloaded Ubuntu 6.10 and booted it up and on the Live CD I noticed that I got no boot splash screen so I thought oh well it is just a driver thing and will get straightened out when I install it so I installed it and when I started it up I was disappointed to see that it had not fixed its self and I was getting no boot splash just a black screen with a blinking white cursor in the top left corner for the start up time then the login screen comes up and everything else works fine. I have tried messing around in the Grub menu.list to change screen resolutions and such but no avail I still have no boot splash. I hope this problem can be fixed. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 701n LCD monitor, if that has anything to do with it. Thanks for the help in advance.
