Bug Description

After my upgrade from dapper using update-manager -c -d my virtual consoles on tty1 - tty6 are not usable. Whenever I switch to them the image is a messed up mashup of what's in my X session.

If I boot into a recovery mode I get the console however.

Could this be a usplash issue? Could you try to remove the "splash" option from the command line when booting?

Oh, and could you tell us what kind of graphics card do you have?

Removing the splash option from the kernel command fixes the issue. Is that the solution or will usplash be worked on?

I have an ATi X800

The bug is still present with an ATI Radeon Mobility x1400. Removing the 'splash' option also fixes the problem.
