Bug Description
Binary package hint: usplash
Steps to reproduce:
1)Start with a Feisty install. Install some services.
2)Upgrade to Gutsy.
3)Restart computer.
It seems the progressbar in usplash stalls at a little over 5% when Ubuntu starts loading. The system continues loading fine, however.
On shut down, usplash is not shown at all.
I think maybe the services I've installed may have confused usplash (currently I'm running a testing teamspeak server, a testing ftp server, and a testing samba server).
Also, when I switch to the first virtual terminal (ctrl+alt+f1), I've noticed some kinit errors that may be related to the problem. Kinit reports an error: No resume image, doing normal boot. Three lines, each saying "Segmentation Fault", are printed after this error. The virtual terminal works fine.
Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to ubuntu.
In order to help fixing your bug, can you describe with more details what do you mean by "the progressbar in usplash stalls at a little over 5% when Ubuntu starts loading. The system continues loading fine, however."? Do you mean that usplash stall and drop to the console or just that usplash stall for a few seconds and then the progress bar continues until 100% ?
