Sorry, I was wrong. There is just a strange behiviour but not a very serious problem: If you change the "connector" in the "output" tab of the ubunut sound preferences, the sound card is not working any more. You can't hear anything anymore. But there is an easy way to repair it: plug in the USB sound card again and don't touch the "connector"... ;)
