Bug Description

usb.ids and pci.ids are very outdated on Ubuntu (I know as I contributed hundreds of usb.ids).

Possible solutions :
1) update pci.ids and usb.ids for every maintained release of Ubuntu
OR
2) Add a cron job that does the update (update-usbids and update-pciids), see http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/15641/

Hi Felipe,

I changed the bug title and description to make it more look like a bug and less like a feature request. I have also added a brainstorm idea for one of the possible solutions.

Thanks
