Bug Description

This is a continuation of bug #1079188, which see for the circumstances when it happens. I cannot reproduce it on demand, but after a resume, the color calibration light on my ThinkPad W510 comes on briefly. If it does not go out, it indicates a condition in which lsusb -v (but not lsusb) segfaults and several (but not all) of the USB ports on this laptop stop working. I have not found a way to reset it other than by rebooting.

See also bug #737502, which affected the 11.04 release, but I do not get segfaults with lsusb or lsusb -t, and I'm on 11.10, which it claims fixed that bug. So I'm guessing I have a different bug. Someone more experienced than I will have to decide.

While it seems obvious, for the record, "what you expected to happen":
no program should ever segfault (tall order, I know)
my USB ports should not fail
if they fail, I should be able to reset something (maybe unload/load a kernel module) and get them working without a reboot (wishful thinking?)

Since this is an intermittent problem, please post suggestions for further diagnostics I can do ASAP, and I'll do them on the next USB crash.

Thanks,

Also, this is a fresh install of 11.10, with all updates applied.
